Travel Information: How to find DIT-UPM (N 40.4524, W 3.7267)

DIT-UPM is located in the Telecommunication Engineering School (ETSIT), which is part of "Ciudad Universitaria", a university campus in the west part of Madrid. See map.

DIT-UPM offices are in ETSIT buildings B ("García Redondo") and C ("López Araujo"), 2nd floor.

ETSIT can be reached by bus, underground, or taxi. Bus line F comes from "Cuatro Caminos" (point 1 on map) and bus line 82 comes from "Moncloa" (point 2 on map). Both stop at ETSIT's entrance when coming from Cuatro Caminos or Moncloa. However, to take the bus in the return direction you must go to a different bus stop. See details on the map.

The underground station "Ciudad Universitaria", line 6, is the closest to ETSIT (1 km away approximately). Cuatro Caminos and Moncloa also have stations in the same line. See the complete map of underground lines. Very close to the "Ciudad Universitaria" station you can connect with bus lines 82, G or U, which stop at ETSIT's entrance.

In Madrid, the underground is usually called "El Metro". Metro tickets and bus tickets cost 1 € each. At underground stations you can buy a combined ticket called "metrobus" that is valid for ten trips (underground or bus) and costs 6,70 €. The Metro is closed at nights from 2 am to 6 am. You should acquire a contactless card (2.5€) before buying the first ticket. Y(ou can return the contactless card before leaving Madrid and you will receive your money back.

Arrival and Hotels

The international airport Madrid-Barajas is located 12 km east of Madrid. There are 4 terminals:

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 (T1, T2 and T3) are colocated and can be reached by metro with the underground station "Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3" (line 8), as well as bus line 200 which goes from terminals T1, T2, and T3 to "Avenida de América" (point 3 on map).
The new terminal 4 (T4 and its satellite T4S) is used by Iberia and other airlines. See list of airlines at each terminal. It can be reached also by metro with the underground station "Aeropuerto T4" (line 8). Bus line 204 goes from terminal T4 to "Avenida de América". Free shuttle buses link all four terminals.

The metro ticket when going or coming from the airport terminals costs 2€. If you go to the airport from the city, you should buy a special metro ticket for the airport (2€) instead of the normal one (1€).

If you take a taxi, the initial fare is 1,85 € and the supplementary fare for trips from/to the airport is 5 €. There is no extra charge for luggage. The taxi tariff, shown in the taximeter, is "1" (0,87 €/km) Monday through Friday from 6 am to 10 pm, or "2" (1 €/km) at nights from 10 pm to 6 am, weekends, and holidays. To ask for a receipt say "Un recibo, por favor".

There are no hotels within short walking distance of ETSIT. Hotel Tirol, Hotel Husa Moncloa, and Hotel NH Alberto Aguilera are located in "Moncloa", close to bus 82 stop. In the same area is Hotel Conde Duque.

Hotel AC Los Vascos and Hotel Jardin Metropolitano are near "Cuatro Caminos" and bus F stop.

Hotel Liabeny and Hotel Carlos V are closer to the city center. In this case, you can take the underground at station "Callao" (line 3).

Cómo llegar al DIT-UPM (N 40.4524, W 3.7267)

El DIT-UPM está localizado en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (ETSIT), que forma parte de "Ciudad Universitaria", un campus universitario en la parte Oeste de Madrid. Ver mapa.

Las oficinas del DIT-UPM están situadas en los edificios B ("García Redondo") y C ("López Araujo") de la ETSIT, segunda planta.

Es posible llegar a la ETSIT a través de autobús, metro o taxi. La línea F de autobuses parte de "Cuatro Caminos" (punto 1 en el mapa) y la linea 82 viene de "Moncloa" (punto 2 en el mapa). Ambas líneas paran en la entrada de la ETSIT cuando salen de Cuatro Caminos o Moncloa. Sin embargo, para volver, se deberá ir a una parada diferente de autobús. Ver detalles en el mapa.

La estación de metro "Ciudad Universitaria", linea 6, es la más cercana a la ETSIT (emplazada a 1 km de distancia aproximadamente). Cuatro Caminos y Moncloa también tienen estaciones en la misma línea. Ver el mapa completo de líneas de metro. Muy cerca de la parada de "Ciudad Universitaria" se pueden tomar autobuses de las líneas 82, G or U, que paran a la entrada de la ETSIT.

Los tickets de Metro y autobús cuestan 1€. En las estaciones de Metro es posible adquirir un ticket combinado llamado "metrobus" que es válido para diez viajes (de metro o autobús) y cuesta 6,70€. El horario de apertura del Metro es de 6 am a 2 am.

Llegadas y hoteles

El aeropuerto internacional Madrid-Barajas está localizado a 12 Km al este de Madrid.

Existen 4 terminales:

Las terminales 1,2 y 3 (T1, T2 y T3) son contiguas y se puede acceder a ellas tanto a través de Metro, estación "Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3" (línea 8), como a través de autobús, línea 200 ,que va desde las terminales T1, T2, y T3 a "Avenida de América" (punto en el mapa).

La nueva terminal 4 (T4 y su satélite T4S) es utilizada por Iberia y otras aerolíneas. Ver lista de aerolíneas de cada temrinal. Se puede acceder a ella a través de Metro, estación "Aeropuerto T4" (línea 8) y autobús, línea 204. La línea 204 va desde la terminal 4 a "Avenida de América". Autobuses gratuítos conectan las cuatro terminales.

El ticket de metro para entradas o salidas del aeropuerto cuesta 2€. Si se desea ir desde la ciudad al aeropuerto se deberá adquirir un ticket especial de Metro para el aeropuerto (2€) en lugar de uno sencillo (1€).
Si se opta por tomar un taxi, la tarifa inicial es de 1,85€ y la suplementaria para viajes hasta/desde el aeropuerto es de 5€. No hay cargo extra por equipaje. La tarifa del taxi mostrada en el taxímetro es "1" (0,87€/km) de lunes a viernes de 6am a 10pm o "2" (1€/km) las noches de 10pm a 6 am, los findes de semana y las vacaciones.

Los hoteles más cercanos a la ETSIT son Hotel Tirol, Hotel Husa Moncloa, y Hotel NH Alberto Aguilera, localizados en "Moncloa", cerca de la parada del autobús 82. En la misma zona se encuentra el Hotel Conde Duque.

Los hoteles AC Los Vascos y Jardin Metropolitano están cerca de "Cuatro Caminos" y de la parada del autobús F.

Los hoteles Liabeny and Carlos V están situados más cerca del centro de la ciudad. En este caso, se puede tomar el metro hasta la parada de "Callao" (línea 3).
